No appointment is needed for walk ins. In person customers enter their information at one of three marriage license kiosks by the public service counter, and the office asks that you arrive by 3:30 pm so the license is processed that day. You get the license once both parties complete the application and take the oath. There is also a video application option, Monday to Thursday 9:00 am to 12 pm, with the completed application uploaded at least 48 hours ahead; a license from a video appointment is mailed to you. If you need the license on the same day as your courthouse ceremony, arrive at least 30 minutes early. Certified copies are $2.50 each. Several of this metro's listed Alexandria venues are Fairfax County park sites with Alexandria addresses, but that does not affect the license, because a Virginia license from any clerk works anywhere in Virginia.
