Licenses are only issued Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. even though the office is open until 5 p.m. The county publishes the statutory split of the $60 fee: $30 to the Department of Administration Domestic Violence Fund, $5 to the Department of Public Instruction Children's Trust Fund, and $25 as the Register of Deeds fee. Applicants who cannot speak or read English must bring an interpreter over 18 who is not related to the other applicant.
